The dream of escaping the 9 to 5 is real. But what most people don't tell you is that the path to freedom doesn't get shorter — it gets longer before it gets better.

To become a business owner, you don't work less. You work more. Far more. We're talking 10 to 15 hours a day, sometimes more. And in the early years, that's not the exception — that's the standard.

I Learned This in 2016

In the very first month of starting my business, reality hit fast. I wasn't working 9 to 5 anymore. I was working 15 to 20 hours every single day. Not occasionally. Every. Single. Day.

No Sundays. No days off. Missed family functions for years. Showed up even when my mood was low. Pushed through even when I didn't feel well. There was no pause button, no sick leave, no one to cover for me.

I did whatever it took — because I knew what I was building.

It Takes Everything — For a Season

Starting a business takes energy. Sustaining it takes more. Succeeding in it takes everything you have.

But here's what I want you to understand: it is not endless.

There is a line you have to cross. And yes, that line is long — longer than any 9 to 5 shift you've ever worked. But it is crossable. And on the other side of that line is something most people only dream about.

What Happens When You Cross It

I crossed that line. And what I found on the other side was a life I genuinely could not have imagined when I started.

No fixed time to show up. No rush. No one dictating my schedule. Total freedom — the kind that doesn't feel real until you're living it. Total bliss.

That is what I was after. And that is exactly what I got — but only after crossing that line.
